On Sunday the 8th of September and the 12th Sunday after Trinity, Fr Trudeau, along with Deacon Mofokeng and our student, Mr. Mayekise, travelled the 4 hours one way to Botshabelo where Fr. Trudeau celebrated Holy Communion in Sesotho for the parish of Saint Patrick’s where one of our newest deacons is located; it has been several months since their last communion service and all were looking forward to it. As for Fr. Trudeau, who does not speak Sesotho, but gets along in Setswana, which is in the same linguistic family group so he is able to celebrate the sacraments in Sesotho thankfully; We are sure that the faithful were surprised that the “white father,” spoke their own language and they were very happy to have the Eucharist in Sesotho. We had a very good visit and thank you all for the hospitality, especially to Mrs. Tsoeu, the widow of our former Father Tsoeu who was the priest-in-charge who died in August 2018 from complications of diabetes; they have been without a priest since that time. A new deacon, Rev. Mr. Kholoane, was ordained on 18th August 2019 and is now the deacon-in-charge of the parish.
