On 16 June 2021, being a national holiday, the Very Reverend Damien Trudeau, Prior of Our Lady of Good Hope Monastery and Vicar General of the Missionary Diocese of the West, assisted by clergy from 2 other South African Dioceses, presided over the Opening of a Church and the Blessing of a Church at the new mission of Our Lady of Good Hope, located in Khuma, outside of Stilfontein, in the North West Province of South Africa. Built by the hands of local men of the parish along with Fr. Trudeau, who will serve as pastor, the new mission will have weekly services in seSotho at 10:00am on Sundays. Plans are also underway to open up a day and child care centre as well as Our Lady of Good Hope Troop of the Scouts of South Africa.
